Congratulations to Kansas for their 4th AP FINAL NO. 1 finish in their storied history along with 15 Final Fours and 9 National Championship game appearances (losing 3 NC games by a combined 5 points), second most all-time wins and third highest winning percentage in NCAA history.
Can we just say Zags won the season?
Feel so terrible for senior PF Killian Tillie. He is a legit NBA talent whose career has been damaged due to injuries. He was going to be on a #1 seeded team that was going to play its first two games in Spokane but off campus. This was his last chance to show NBA scouts what he could do if he could stay healthy for a sustained period of time vs. high level competition. Whether or not you feel Gonzaga was a favorite to win this thing, everyone agrees that this year's field was as wide open as it has ever been (Kansas cannot shoot the 3 ball, struggles to score at times, an had too many close calls against mediocre teams to be called a "dominant" favorite), and the Zags are the only team in the land to have 3 players who are top 5 candidates to win their national positional awards in Petrusev (center), Tillie (PF) and Kispert (C). They had serious talent. You had experience in the backcourt as well. Team was hurt when its best recruit, PF Anton Watson, went down to a season ending injury. Also felt bad for the WCC. They were going to put 3 teams into the dance and another 2 into the NIT. Several major conferences didn't have 6 teams with 20 or more wins like the WCC did. Despite that, GU has to put to rest this insane notion that they can't do well in the NCAA tourney because of their league. They've been to 5 straight sweet 16's or better – one of only 3 programs to do that in the expanded bracket era – and in at least one of those years they wouldn't have made the dance if they had not won their league tourney. It hasn't all been about favorable seeding.
This was Gonzaga's year. I'm so ticked off at the NCAA..
March sadness covers it…super disappointed myself! Love our Zags and wanted to see them do it this year!! I feel bad for the players (love you guys) who have worked so hard to get here and now can’t finish the season tournament! Sucks big time! This is crazy! Can’t wait till the panic is over! Trust God and wash your hands!! Joshua 1:9
It was canceled because the elites/banksters are using this virus/crisis to manuever. We as a human race need to start talking back to the elites. We all folded like a bad poker hand.
i didnt get a single pick in my bracket wrong this year
Why not wait until June for March Madness's.
It an amateur sport, an extracurricular activity. Seniors graduate. Get a job.
Even June 20th would be fine. Even if players were drafted let them be exempt. At least let #1 Kansas play #2 Gonzaga at KU. 1 cheerleader and 1 superfan from each team, no fans.
Kansas National Champions 2020
This is the new Norm folks
People's health is more important than sports. We live in a world of lawsuits and if NCAA doesn't do anything about it and someone dies from the virus I'm sure they'll file lawsuits against the NCAA. I strongly believe people's lives are way more important then sports.
Kudos to Mark Few for being the voice of sanity in a panic.
This is stupid. They could of literally had it in July if they had to. Nobody wants to watch mid season baseball
Sucks for everyone. SDSU has their best team ever 2 great 5th year senior transfers and player of the year candidate. Soo sad
Mark Few is spot on in his words.
Time will tell out the truth of this but, at this point this Covid 19
has been overblown by the media to a frenzied point of hysteria. When
the H1N1 (Swine Flu ) virus hit in 2009/2010, it had almost 62,000,000
(million) cases in the USA alone of which there were over 24,000 deaths
in the USA alone. The deadliest strain of Flu is the H1N1, not Covid 19
or Coronavirus (which has been around for decades). Yet, you never saw
this happen with the H1N1. You didnt see mass hysteria that resulted in
the cancellation of schools, and you certainly didnt see the NCAA and
the NBA cancel seasons. This is a shame.

I'm heartbroken over this, I understand why the decision was made, but reflecting other peoples comments there was definitely another way to handle this. Testing, postpone a few months and make then make it happen no fans, relocation, test all players and coaching staff as well as all the they have the essential staff. God knows they have the resources. This literally ruined many of the college players dreams, their senior college careers, and their prospects potentially after college.
This is an overreaction. We should not cancel everything in life for this.
Its madness
I feel bad for the Seniors and for those teams who have already won their conference tournaments to get an automatic bid. This was the year for the unexpected.
This is March Madness… just not the one we're used to
give seniors another year
It is absolutely idiotic the "precautions" the NCAA has taken. The kids they are supposedly "protecting" are more or less safe. People who actually die from coronavirus are older people. Playing without fans in the stands was a reasonable precaution. Without the fans, there would be 50-60 people on the court. If that seems like too many people, never go to a movie theater, restaurant, museum, or even a grocery store. You are more likely to catch the virus there. Postponing the tournament was another reasonable precaution. The cancellation was an idiotic decision made by the buffoons in charge of the NCAA. The NCAA has taken away moments from the players, coaches, and fans across the country. Lamar Stevens for Penn State was 7 points away from being the all-time scorer for Penn State. Rutgers was going to make the tournament for the first time since 1991. The seniors will never get to play another game for their team because the NCAA "had" to take drastic measures instead of basic precautions.
This was Gonzaga’s year too
Gonzaga's best shot at the title was this year. The stars were aligning with most likely a #1 seed, playing in their hometown of Spokane for the first two rounds.
Great work Mr. Few. Next year the Zags will be stacked if Petrusev and Ayayi stay home. And to Tillie, thank you for coming back and battling through those injuries.
At least give the seniors another shot to play next year
I like the idea of giving seniors another year of eligibility if they want it. This really hurts these players futures. This really sucks 😔
I knew it! Could had said it sooner but can you do. I'm sorry for everybody but I have to say other than 911 I had never seen things effected in a lot of forms of entertainment and sports effected like this but more so cause it's all at once.
Now sports wise I need the break lol I hope they stay off at least 2 weeks. Becuz I can’t take a break on y own lol I have to be forced. I’m very tired as a sport better and I can’t be the only on lol
And I was very tired going into thse days of 9am games and all the way to 10pm lol it’s crazy. I also need the time to see if I can really do this for a living or not. I have to know if I’m even able t force myself to stick to my best games ONLY. It’s very very difficult. So many temptations 😩🤦♂️
Like I gotta mentally Force myself to commit to this and do it. It’s the only way. If I had a coach I would be a millionaire by now ☹️☹️☹️🤦♂️
I lack discipline 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ even if not millionaire I woulda been a 500k aire by now lol if I had a good coach to keep me on it and beat my head when I don’t
You can go to Walmart but you can't go to a ballgame? I guess.
Feel bad for the top 10 and those schools who were gonna be there for the first time
I feel for the upperclassmen
I think this might bring end to NCAA as institution.
They only need like 300 ppl at this tourny per game… but yet I still have to go to a school full of 1000 ppl smh
I quit watching this forever if they just cancel and don't postpone then I am done with ncaa after 37 years of die hard unc fan
I was gonna hit my "Bracket" this year.
It sucks watching these games starting in early November to see who wins, finding out in March Madness that the tournament is over. It feels like my favorite team, Illinois winning all these games feels like nothing. I especially feel bad for Dayton.
Shut Down The MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, And NCAA
Until 2030, because the virus is not going away.
What a dumb decision
Mad about them duckets lol
Hope these democrats are happy. Im not
